Established in 2011, Fort Houston is an integrated co-working and makerspace model based in Nashville, TN. Motivated by the lack of proximity to other creators, makers, and resources to physically make things, Fort Houston offers a full-scale wood shop and metal shop helping incubate numerous small businesses during their start-up years. As seen through monthly art crawl, events, and other community driven efforts, the facility is complimented by a DIY attitude and culture purely unique to Fort Houston experience. Each Fort sets out on a mission to defend your right to create by combining traditional and forgotten mediums with a hyper-local focus. Our Nashville location houses over 60 members and 20 businesses, and through our spring-board method, we have had more than 225 businesses graduate from our facility and grow their companies.

”Fort Houston has a spot here called the Loading Dock where a couple of the members sell local craft beer and products made by local artists and craftspeople. During the eclipse, they held a Solarium exhibit which showed graphic footage of the surface of the sun. Really cool! The guys who run this space are super nice and their main goal is to connect people with local makers. It's a good spot to buy gifts made by local artists. So many good vibes and beautiful pieces!” - Ashley B.
